Black Momentum, Space, 2025 is a further development of Black Momentum, Space, 2023. In the new work, the paper architecture forms a monumental, clearly marked space within a space in the surrounding architecture. On one side, it has a narrow, low entrance through which you can enter the inner space. This entrance area is concealed by a blind that is slightly shorter than the wall. There is a narrow, short passageway between the blind and the wall, which the visitor must pass through to reach the empty interior. This is only slightly illuminated by dim, cold light, so that on entering one is first enveloped by an atmospheric darkness and emptiness. Scattered light penetrates through the open ceiling. Slowly the eyes adapt, become more sensitive to light, the room appears brighter, the structures, shapes and colour nuances of the black paper panels become more differentiated. Diffuse, blurred, dark areas remain. The darkness and emptiness challenge the viewers, who are thrown back on themselves. Space and light in combination with the black and the materiality of the paper evoke dimensions of space and time that point far beyond the human and place the existential in the focus of contemplation.
